I think the Strictly partnerships are announced this weekend. I think there is little point speculating on the finalists until we see the pairings.

Current odds are

Ashley Roberts 11/4 from 5/1

Vick Hope 9/2 from 8/1

Danny John-Jules 8/1 from 10/1

Stacey Dooley 8/1 from 16/1

Faye Tozer 10/1 from 8/1

Joe Sugg 10/1 from 12/1

Katie Piper 14/1 from 16/1

Charles Venn 14/1 from 8/1

Lauren Steadman 18/1 from 14/1

Ranj Singh 20/1 from 18/1

Graeme Swann 22/1 from 25/1

Lee Ryan 20/1 from 8/1

Kate Silverton 25/1 from 20/1

Seann Walsh 40/1 from 20/1

Susannah Constantine 80/1 from 33/1

So big move in favour of Ashley Roberts, Stacey Dooley and Vick Hope. Big move out for Lee Ryan.

Let's see how the pairing shape up.

It's Friday. It's been two weeks since my last Five Things on a Friday. 5 +2 = 7, so here's a random number of things I want to tell you.

I have been on the office away day (last Friday, hence my absence). We spent the day building rafts. Split in to teams. Various task ranging from puzzles to sumo wrestling. Win the tasks as a team, get an advantage in the raft race. Then design and build a raft out of 44 gallon drums, poles and rope.  My excellent raft building skills from CentreParcs came in handy and I designed a raft that won the final race by huge margin. With a course of twice across the pond our raft had completed its circuit and been hoisted out of the water before any of the other teams had completed one transit. Epic raft building.

I did slightly sprain my ankle sumo wrestling. It's been a little bit sore and a little bit stiff but not very bad. My PT helped with some stretches.

The Captain and I have our first competitive tackle rugby game this weekend in Biggar. The kids have taken to tackling really well but they have reverted to clustering round the ball and the ball carrier again. I have no idea how Sunday will turn out but as long as they have fun that's the only important thing.

I spent two days this week learning about UK Export Control regulations. It's not a hugely interesting topic on it's own. There is a list of things. There is a list of countries. Do not send things on the list of things to places not on the list of countries without asking the British government if it is okay. But it's important so I paid attention and I have found an area where we need to make a few changes.

BB arrives in Edinburgh for a week or so. After that she is going on holiday with her boyfriend and then back to uni for her last year.

We are also being visited by the daughter of some family friends who is moving from the US to study at Edinburgh and we are going to look after her in loco parentis.

Games this week were Secret Hitler where an unfortate slip of the tongue by me resulted in the Liberal loosing and Hitler being elected. I like the game but I'm not sure that a Hitler themed game is entirely the way to go.
