I was passing Waterstone's yesterday lunch time and noticed that Amanda Palmer was signing books.

Knowing that a significant proportion of my regular readers are fans of Ms Palmer I thought I'd pop my head in and see what was what.

There were a lot of people waiting to see her. The queue started on the ground floor by the door and went all the way up to and then around the second floor. Palmer looked to being very warm and friendly with her fans.

She looks more like Tamsin Greig in person than I realised.

I bought a book by someone else and pottered off to purchase some socks.

Briefly it is to do with her shameless leveraging of Mr Gaiman's fame, and to some extent her own, to exploit people. The strongest example of this is her turning to Kickstarter to finance a project and receiving $1.2m rather than the $100k goal, but then offering to 'pay' her musicians in "beer and hugs." I dislike her intensely, as taking advantage of people like that is just wrong, IMO.
