Ha, this is excellent, both in content and in style!
My method is a little different - I warm up some brandy in a mug in the microwave, pour that over the pudding and then light the fumes with a match. But I shall give due consideration to the use of shallow depressions and warmed spoons this year.
I'm afraid I do put holly on mine as well. It's a bit stupid in many ways, since obviously that also catches on fire, and the results are not very pretty. But it seems appropriately festive.
