On Television in February

I have finished watching Dirk Gently's Holistic Detective Agency. It is very strange. Deliberately so. It conveyed the state of strangeness very well. There is a sort of madcap coincidence about the programme. Nothing makes sense until everything makes. People think they are pursuing their own agenda in a strange but rational way. No one is insane, they just want unusual things and have unusual attributes. They are also thwarted in their aspirations by whatever is looming out there. Season two ends with the implication that Season three will be Bigger and Badder and that perhaps Season four will reveal Important Truths About the Universe. Or perhaps jump the shark. Which would be a shame for a programme that literally started with someone jumping a shark.
Part of me hopes it survives the funding issues caused by BBC America pulling out. Part of me hopes that it doesn't and the implied Bigger and Badder Truth remains a Noodle Incident.
In othew news, I have caught up with Star Trek Discovery but there are still two episodes to go before the end of the first season. It is a bit strange to be back to waiting a week for the next episode. It's like the 90's and waiting for Friends to be on.
I am still watching Battlestar Gallatica but slowly. There is just about enough time to watch an episode whilst MLW delivers stories and other bed time related soothing to the Captain.
I shall rotate catching up on Ripper Street in to the gap created by DGHG and ST:D and also add in Season 4 of Brooklyn 99.
