I am reminded by this post about being tear gassed of a game my brothers and I used to play.

We had taken delivery of some large household appliance. Can't remember what. It had come in a very large cardboard box. Large enough for a young man to lie down in.

For some reason brothers and friends and I hit upon the idea that a great test of our joint and several manly manliness would be to see who could stay in the box longest whilst the rest of us inserted as many noxious vapours as possible. Fly spray, ant spray, mosquito repellant, water repellant for shoes, furniture polish, WD40, burning mosquito rings, burning polystyrene.

The competition was called to halt when we managed to set fire to the air inside the box whilst I was in the box.

It's a wonder we all survived to adulthood and that none of us walk with a limp.

I thought this was a variant on my favourite childhood game, Best (or Dead) Man's fall. You'd take it in turns to die horribly at the hands of your friends, who had choice of weapon. Points were given for inventive means of dealing death. Guns and knives were scorned in favour of the more exotic - garrote, poison, wild animals etc.

I topped out with "Thermo nuclear ICBM."

That's a fun game.

But no, this was using live ammunition.

Well, actually we used to throw live ammunition in to the fire and then jump over it. Somewhat surprisingly the only serious injury was a pal who got hit in the nuts by a slug and smacked in to a tree whilst simultaneously landing and being hit in the nuts.
