I feel very tired.

Last week I was a SQL programming course. I found it very difficult and very tiring. Not sure if this is the only thing going on or if I’m still recovering from the long journeys, excitement and jetlag of the #ZinkusNavigation.

I’ve begun to tune out the referendum coverage. I made up my mind a long time ago and there is no new information that could reasonably be expected that would change my mind. So, I’m confining myself to noticing deficiencies in the No campaign’s ground campaign and wondering what if anything they could have done differently.

Still, it’s all very exciting and great to see so many people engaged with the campaigns.

I’m off down south to see BB this weekend. I’m looking forward to finding out how A Levels are going. Other than that I expect we’ll just sleep in. it barely registers that come Friday England might be a foreign country.

Were you tired when you were travelling?

Not particularly that I remember.

Except during obvious periods like just after a long flight.

I was getting quite worried about your health before you left, but if you weren't tired when you were away then I don't think it's a structural problem for you.

How and when do you rest?

How and when do you do other things that resource and energise you?

What was making you worried about my health?

AT the moment resting is not working well.

I would usually use flexi-days to take a day off once a month or so and just go and read a book in the museum but as I've been hoarding flexi-time for my trip I've not been able to do this for a while.

I know it is difficult when you are parenting a four year old. I don't want to minimise that. But if you are only doing things that use energy and are not doing things that restock it, eventually you are going to run out of petrol.

Exercise is good in principle in terms of building resource. But if you hate it, it also costs a lot psychologically. There needs to be stuff in the plan that is genuine self-care - i.e., that has a current payoff as well as a future payoff - rather than just being self-improvement.

This is true.

I think a little self-care is certainly indicated.

I don’t think there is a structural problem tied in to being tired e.g. I don’t think I’m anaemic or something similar.

I do think being physically fitter would help me feel more energetic and that’s the very next thing on my to do list.

That last question is a good one.

I think I have been neglectful of this question and it's an important one.

You were an SQL programming course? I can see why that would be exhausting :->

I've taught SQL to people. As recently as a couple of months ago. So if you need a hand...

Is it known for being difficult?

A hand might well be helpful.

My main reason for going was to learn enough to be able to talk to the technical people about stuff but I am considering starting an OU degree in Computer Science.

The basics aren't difficult _if taught well_ (like most things).

Very happy to come round, of an evening - I'm free next Wednesday and Thursday at the moment.

A degree in Computer Science would be fascinating. I've been enjoying teaching a friend about computers for the last year (and am always happy to do more of that kind of thing if you get stuck, or just fancy a chat).
