I was heartened because a) there was a riot (not just a peaceful demo) and nobody appears to have been shot b) The Chinese workers are striking for pay which is about the best thing low-skilled workers in the West could hear c) The local and national government seemed to think that the demands of the people were not unreasonable and nor was it unreasonable for them to make these demands and they would look into the matter further.
