1. What is the colour of your hairbrush? My actual hairbrush, which I don't use very often is pewter.

2. Name a food you never ever eat? Tomato ketchup.

3. Are you typically too warm or too cold? I'm a Goldilocks - just right most of the time

4. What were you doing 45 minutes ago? Completing a US federal tax return. It's why I earn the big bucks.

5. What is your favourite candy bar? Snickers, but ironically I only started eating them because a former girlfriend didn't like peanuts and it was the only way to stop her stealing my chocolate. It's also why I like lamb curry so much. It was safe.

6. Have you ever been to a professional sports event? Often, most commonly rugby matches, but also cricket and very occassionally soccer.

7. What is the last thing you said out loud? To my shame "what a cockwomble"

8. What is your favourite ice cream? I think it is rum and raison but it actually isn't. Praline and Cream is probably my favourite, or mango kulfi.

9. What was the last thing you had to drink? Water, if by drink we mean ingesting liquid. Portuguese red wine if we mean a drink with alcohol.

10. Do you like your wallet? I do. It is brown and has useful slots and pockets for keeping things in.

11. What was the last thing you ate? Bacon and eggs.

12. Did you buy any new clothes last weekend? I did not. I last bought clothes about a month ago.

13. The last sporting event you watched? The last sporting event I watched was proably Scotland vs France in the Six Nations. We won, it was a surprise.

14. What is your favourite flavour of popcorn? I like a mixture of salt and sugar. My mum liked it before it was a thing and used to order small bag of both whenever we went to the cinema and combine them.

15. Who is the last person you sent a text message to? Depends on your definition of text message. If an actual SMS, the My Lovely Wife. If some other fom of messaging system for phone it was probably a message to hano. If an instant messaging service for PC then one of my colleagues Robert.

16. Ever go camping? Many times when I was a lad in Australia. We would camp rough and sleep under the stars. Less so now. It's less fun in the cold and wet.

17. Do you take vitamins? Not often.

18. Do you go to church every Sunday? The last church service I went to was an open doors event at which My Lovely Wife was singing. I consider myself to have been there qua audience rather than qua congregation. The last time I was in church as a participant in one a Christian rite would be a wedding. I can't remember the exact order of weddings I've been to in the last decade but perhaps 5 years ago in Somerset. Or perhaps the funeral of my mother in law. I'm not sure how Christian that was. The last time I was a church service that wasn't a wedding or a funeral would have been before Bluebird was born.

19. Do you have a tan? I'm half Australian and half Scottish - the sun kills us.

20. Do you prefer Chinese food over pizza? I'm not actually a huge fan of Chinese food, certainly not Chinese take away. I like dumplings. Depends on the mood. Pizza is certainly eaten more often in my house than Chinese food.

21. Do you drink your soda with a straw? I do not. I don't like straws much.

22. What colour socks do you usually wear? Any colour except black.

23. Do you ever drive above the speed limit? Never.

24. What terrifies you? All sorts of things. Lots of things are rightly very frightening. A close encounter with a bear or one of the dangerous sharks or the interaction between my son's stubbornness and any easily avoided danger.

25. Look to your left, what do you see? A radiator with some (not black) socks on and then a series of prints of a photograph bought as a birthday present for me.

26. What chore do you hate the most? Drying up.

27. What do you think of when you hear an Australian accent? Darwin, 1943, you were a "clerk" with I-corps, I was flying Spits's out of Livingstone. I should have known better, you did know better but you didn't seem to care. Oh, memories of the tropical air and your perfume.

28. What’s your favourite soda? Ginger Beer or Dr Pepper.

29. Do you go in a fast food place or just hit the drive thru? I never go to a drive thru. I don't like to eat in the car. I am not a barbarian.

30. What is your favourite number? 11.

31. Who's the last person you talked to? My Lovely Wife - she was wondering what I was doing and whether I was coming for dinner. Negotiating with cockwombles I told her and yes.

32. Favourite cut of beef? Rump steak.

33. Last song you listened to? Not sure, MLW has been listening to thing I recognised but I wasn't paying enough attention to name the song. The last one I remember was Morrissey, Everyday Is Like Sunday

(34?) If this is a question then this is the answer.

35. Favourite day of the week? I like them all for different reasons but mostly at the moment they were all filled with busyness and now are all bluring in to each other

36. Can you say the alphabet backwards? I can, but like a playing the accordian a gentleman doesn't.

37. How do you like your coffee? I like my coffee like I like my women; hot, strong and artisanally roasted.

38. Favourite pair of shoes? I have a pair of light brown brogues which I refer to as my Mr Men shoes. Those are my favourites.

39. Time you normally go to bed? Midnight.

40. Time you normally get up? 7.15am.

41. What do you prefer, sunrise or sunsets? I think it depends on what I'm doing. I enjoy the experience of being awake and fresh for the sunrise but the sunset still promises pleasures ahead. Perhaps my favourite thing to do with sunsets and sunrises was in Aberdeen or Orkney to stay up on the solstice and watch the nearly set and then come back up again. The Simmerdim.

42. How many blankets on your bed? No blankets, I have a quilt. I don't think I've had a blanket on my bed in 40 years. I wouldn't know what to do with one.

43. Describe your kitchen plates? Kitchen plates are duck-egg blue and round and about to be replaced as out of a set for 8 we have lost a few plates, we're about to lose a few mugs and some other stuff has chips. Will probably be razed in to a set of 4 or 6 and donated to my brother and we'll buy something new.

44. Do you have a favourite alcoholic beverage? This like asking me to chose my favourite child. All of my energy goes in to making sure I never have to pick a favourite.

45. Do you play cards? I don't play cards very often but I do like several boardgames which involve cards including a few that might be described as card games if card games did not mean what it means. I like Port Royal and Machi Koro and Coloretto. Also Dominion but I don't get to play that often.

46. What colour is your car? I do not have a car. If I did have a car (and I'd have to be very, very rich to have a car, it would be bright b lue Porche Taycan or dark blue Range Rover.

47. Can you change a tire? Yes, and the last time I did so was in Spain, in Spanish on a rental in record time.

48. Your favourite state? Marriage.

49. Favourite job you’ve ever had? Probably the one I currently have, being the numbers guy for a tech firm.

50. How did you get your biggest scar? I only have one, which I got whilst snorkling in the Coral Sea off the coast of Queensland. I must have touched some coral by accident (I think, I didn't notice it happen) and cut the palm of my right hand just by index finger. It wasn't until we were back on the boat that I spotted the bleeding. The wound became infected and my whole had swelled up.
