So That Was The Play That Was.

Skirt closed on Saturday night. It has been an artistic, financial and social success.

The reviews were positive. I'm sure the writer and director will have learned a great deal about her craft from the process. I think the play made the point that the "patriarchy" is often just one damn thing after another.

I've certainly enjoyed the process of acting. I am mindful of the old theatrical saying "An actor makes themselves more like the character: A star makes the character more like themselves." I have been given a role that is well within my range. Which is fine, as it's given me an opportunity to apply some new skills and techniques in a safe situation.

The show made quite a lot of money. Our other show did too. So the drama group is nicely set up for the next few years. We sold about 95% of our total tickets and had four sold out nights. That's pretty damn good for the Fringe.

I've very enjoyed being in the show. Lots of nice people, some new and for some that I knew already a great opportunity to deepen an existing connection.

I'm tired now. I was working all week during the run of the show. Not hard but still working. The show has required energy. I've had a few late nights and a few early starts. So a little bit of quiet restfulness is due.

As is a shave.
