On Pilates
Jan. 16th, 2015 12:46 pmI went to my first pilates class last night.
I’ve taken out a membership of the Edinburgh University gym through a partnering arrangment they have with my employer. The gym is handly placed on my walk home.
It’s been decades since I went to an exercise class. I treated myself to a new pair of lounge pants.
The class was lovely. Very nice instructor. Gentle exercise and of a type I found very help. I’ve gotten in to the bad habit of slouching and leaning and carrying tension all over the place. Spending an hour stretching and consciouly working my muscles was lovely and I felt energised and limber all evening. The walk home in the cold was particulaly delightful.
The class runs for five weeks. If it continues to delight I’ll definitely rebook and I’ll look at joining one of the free classes focused at cardio-vascular.
By the end of the year I’ll be trimmer and lighter and fitter.
