We use it for project management at work so the boards are set up agile software development style - to do tasks, in progress tasks, done tasks. I think you can do all sorts of clever things with emailing stuff to boards but I just use the web interface to cross off tasks and move cards along as I get to them. You can set due dates on cards and then filter your view on a calendar style presentation too.
I'm a big fan and have started using it for keeping track of my personal admin too.
