It's good that they are both actively thinking about things.
One of the worst things about Dad's unexpectedly awful surgery outcome was that both my parents had flatly refused to contemplate or plan for any sort of worse-case scenario beforehand. Mum didn't even know who supplied their phone and broadband services because Dad had moved everything online and she had no paperwork. It made a hellish months even more stressful than they needed to be.
