On Anniversary Gifts

A momentary panic averted.

The anniversary of my wedding approaches and I am thinking of suitable gifts for MLW.

Momentarily I forgot how long I have been married.

But a cunning trap I laid for myself ten years ago has helped me out.

I met MLW in October.

Shortly after I met MLW I got a new phone and a new phone number.  I was offered a choice of numbers by the sales person and chose one that ended in 28, my age at the time. I thought this would help me remember the number.

From this I know that I have known MLW for My Current Age – The Last Two Digits of My Phone Number.  I am currently 38. Therefore I have known MLW for ten years.  We courted for one year. During discussions to mark our first year as a couple we became engaged and were engaged for one year – almost exactly. Therefore we have been married for eight years.

This anniversary will be our eight anniversary.

Bronze according to Wikipedia or Salt.

I shall buy MLW Greece. That’s a place with a strong association with Bronze and the Sea.

You're in luck, Greece is going very cheap these days...

Alternatively you could have asked me.

It might have been easier than the strategy you actually went for.

Teach a man to fish, you feed him for a day.

Teach a man to subtract one number from another you help him remember how long he has been married forever.
