I suppose it's a sign that I'm not a native of Edinburgh that the Festival is one of the things that might make me move there - though I can understand what a pain it must be to have the High Street effectively closed for a month.

I saw that Marcus Brigstock show in preview, and really enjoyed it. I might try to get to his ranty show too, before the end of the fest.

Further recs? Rich Hall, either his stand up show or the Hodown, Tubular Bells done by two (very) energetic Aussies, and Sandi Toksvig. Yes, I had a very Radio 4 Festival (I also really like the BBC's Potter Row "village", and would have happily moved in there for the duration if I lived in our capital).
