The Church of Scotland has also closed the church just down the high street from us. We are unclear as yet whether they are intending to try to sell it. They tried to get planning permission to knock it down to build a community centre two years ago and unsurprisingly failed miserably. I hope someone manages to find a sympathetic use for it, it has a lovely garden which I'm sure the people who tend it would be very sad to see destroyed.
