The BBC are obliged to respond. In fact before you can lodge the complaint you have to read through the details of the various response and appeal processes that the BBC is subject to.

What is less guaranteed is that I get any sort of substantive reponse by which I mean a response that clearly states that they a) got the tone wrong, b) got the execution wrong, c) disagree with with me that they were trying to do what I think they were trying to do or d) tell me more about your concerns and what would be an appropriate way for SCD to have acted, rather than a response that could be read as " there are two sides to this, on balance, more or less, and when all is said done, yes, no, exactly".
