It's been pointed out here and there that ultimately Deadpool's story added up to a fairly basic superhero movie plot -- you have your protagonist, your love interest, mysterious origins, generically evil villain with generically evil mooks, saving said love interest, a final showdown, the whole works. I thought the movie was enjoyable as it is, but I think it would've been awesome if they had found a way to give that very recognisable old structure some sort of twist.
