What do you worry about with Rupert Everett's character?

I do miss Capaldi as Richeliu. Sometimes I even think the world would be a better place if he hadn't taken the role of the Doctor and had stuck to Richeliu.

I was watching the first episode thinking people are doing stuff because it is narratively convenient and I think I've seen the story arc before. Hey ho.
