If your needs are:

Then you cannot buy a (Windows) computer which will not do this.

I wouldn't spend more than £450-£500 on it, personally.

Playing the odd game would push the specs up, depending on the game, because most PC games tend to be aimed at the higher end. On the other hand, most games that are three years old (or older) should be fine.
